2013 Photo Calendars

Hi Folks:

Update: If you’re looking for 2014 calendars, please click here.

If you’re looking for templates for Lightroom/Photoshop, please see the bottom of this post.

As I’ve done for the past two years, I created a template in MS Word that allows people who don’t have Photoshop, Lightroom or the equivalent to make their own photo calendars.  There are usually a number of people who generate templates for Lightroom/ Photoshop as well, and while I haven’t yet encountered any this year, I’ll add them to this post when I find some.  I used MS Word 2007 to make the template, but saved it as both a Word 2007 file and a Word 97-2003 compatible file. Basically it’s a series of tables, one for each month, that look something like this:

Sample Calendar Page

The large square at the top is a blank picture file. If you click on it and go to Insert/Picture or right-click on it and select Change Picture, you can replace the existing (blank) picture with one of your own. The easiest way is to select 12 images that all have the same size/shape; otherwise you may have to fiddle with the cell heights to make the calendar line up from month to month. Where it says ‘Caption’, you can highlight and type in your own caption for each image, or you can simply highlight and delete the text if you don’t want a caption. Here are the template files:

We’ve also made our own photo calendar available again this year. It looks like this:

2013 Photo Calendar

All of the images were made in Victoria except for September, which was made in Kelowna. Some of the images were made by Marcia and the rest by Mike; some were made using our cell phone cameras and some not.  All were made in the month they represent (i.e. the image for January 2013 was made in January 2012, etc.) I saved it as a .pdf file, then zipped it to save a little space. Clicking on the picture will enable you to download the zip file but please note this is a 7.5MB file.

All of the images in the calendar are © copyright 2012 Marcia and Mike Nelson Pedde and are covered by a Creative Commons license, non-commercial, non-dervis. That means you can use them for personal use but not for business (okay to give them to family but not for sale), you can’t modify or change them in any way, and if you do use them you’ll give us credit for them by adding our names and linking back to this site or our Flickr site.  Thanks!!

Our best wishes to you and those close to you for a new year full of as much love, excitement, joy, peace and harmony as you can handle!

Hugs,
M&M

P.S. For the past several years, Ed Weaver has made Lightroom calendar templates available.  You can find them here.  Thomas Ljungberg also has a set of Lightroom calendar templates, here.  While not a calendar, Richard Harrington has a tutorial on making a ‘holiday desktop’ image in Photoshop, here. Finally, as mentioned above, I created a set of calendar files and two Lightroom templates for 2013 calendars.  All of the images and instructions can be downloaded from this file: Calendar.zip.  There are 13 calendar images: one for each month and one for the entire year.  The monthly calendars look the same as the image at the top.  The year calendar, created using the Lightroom template and one of my images and printed to .jpg from Lightroom, looks like this:

Hi There: Yes, there's a full-year image file in with the other monthly calendar files. Basically the calendar files are 8×10" jpg files with a blank space at the top for you to add your own image on top, depending on the photo software you have. I don't have a Word template for the full calendar year but I imagine you could make one. It would take a bit to do because you'd have to create a new table with more, smaller cells and transpose the information from the months into it. There are really only seven base files as the month either starts on S/M/T/W/T/F/S. I did the image files in CorelDraw and then exported them out as .jpg files.

Hi there also … I am trying to find a layer or PNG template to overlay, horizontal and vertical, 12 month calendars in one line over an image layer for 20X30 calendar posters. Any idea where I can find a template for doing this?

Hi There: I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for, but if you go to Google and type in 2013 calendar template you'll find hundreds and hundres of image files showing different templates. I'm sure there must be something in there that will work for you!

      Hope that helps…

      Mike.
